Salomon was born in 1947 in the heart of the French Alps and the birthplace of modern alpinism. Driven by a passion for skiing and design innovation, Francois Salomon and his son George designed and perfected much of the first modern ski equipment. During the following 60 years, Salomon's commitment to innovative design and passion for mountain sports created a vast range of revolutionary new concepts in boots, skis and apparel and brought innovative solutions to footwear, apparel and equipment for hiking, adventure racing, mountaineering and trail running. The 4D Advanced Chassis design enables more forefoot flexion for a smoother ride that flows from step to step, guiding the foot and reducing fatigue during long days on the trail, even on the roughest terrain.

Contagrip Outsole

For maximum traction on mixed terrain and extended durability, Contagrip TD combines a deep, aggressive lug pattern with our most durable compound. EnergyCell midsole, a high performance EVA foam, provides shock attenuation.

SensiFit Foothold

SensiFit cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customized fit all around the foot. Molded OrthoLite sockliner delivers comfort and breathability.

GORE-TEX Waterproof

Added GORE-TEX membrane keeps your feet dry from the outside as well as from the inside. Waterproof material remains unaffected by water even when under pressure, completely preventing water from entering the shoe through the upper. Protective mudguard around the base of the foot protects the lateral and medial sides from muddy trails, while the rubber toe-cap protects the toes. Full grain Nubuck leather on the upper delivers longer wear and durability.
